Why Become a Lifesaver

As a surf lifesaver you are part of one of the largest community volunteer organisations, with over 35 000 volunteers across Australia. Each year on average 55 million people visit Australian beaches and over 12 000 rescues are performed. Every weekend and public holiday at Terrigal Beach, like thousands of other beaches around Australia, volunteer members of our club provide a safe and friendly environment for all beach visitors.

Patrolling lifesavers are well-trained, professional and dedicated to providing a vital community service to both residents and visitors to the beautiful Terrigal Beach.Surf lifesaving offers something for everyone, from 5 years to 105 years. Surf lifesaving is unique in offering education, water safety, competition, recreation, adventure and a family-friendly, social environment, all under one roof.

Terrigal Surf Club members all volunteer for different reasons and fulfill a multitude of roles within the club. While the vast majority of our club members are active lifesavers, there are also opportunities in administration, education and other service roles for those that cannot complete the practical requirements of active lifesaving.

So if you are community minded, love the beach and surf, join us today as a valuable part of the “life of the beach”.
