Requirements and Benefits

Terrigal Surf Life Saving Club offers a range of activities in a great environment. Anyone can apply to become a member of the club. As a member of the club you are entitled to use the club facilities and appropriate equipment.The first step is to obtain a membership form. All new members are considered probationary until you have completed the requirements for your category of membership and have been accepted at a monthly management meeting.Some categories of membership require you to complete a timed test swim, to determine your swimming ability.

The base level of all involvement in the club is to be an active patrolling lifesaver. To be an active member allows you involvement in every aspect of club life. To be an active member you need to do the following: Obtain your Surf Rescue Certificate (13-14yrs) or Bronze Medallion (15yrs+); Pay your annual club fees; Do your minimum patrol requirements and successfully complete an annual proficiency test. Membership renewals are due on 1st May each year. Please renew your membership to allow use of the club facilities after this date.

Benefits of membership

Club Activities include training, competitions, events, beach patrols and social functions. Members also have access to the clubs facilities including showers, club equipment and function room.

Education

Surf Life Saving offers a range of awards, training and courses through Terrigal Club to increase your skills and knowledge.

Competition and/or fitness

Active members can compete in a range of disciplines. Board, ski, boat, IRB, masters teams etc train at various times of the week and year. If you wish to train and compete with these teams, please contact the captain of that team in order to find out more about the activities.

Social Events

There are regular and yearly social events held at Terrigal. Every Sunday, members and guests are welcome to attend Sunday Sips, from 4pm in summer and 3pm in winter. All are welcome, come along and make yourself known.

Use of Club Boards and Skis

Only Active Members of the club can use this equipment, appropriate to their training level. Make sure you use only the equipment marked club use only. If it is your first time trying out a new activity, please ask someone for assistance. Club members are only too happy to give you a few pointers to set you on your way!
